Today we’re looking at nearly 100,000 local job data points to pull out and organize some top-line insights.  Our data today comes from one of the largest Chinese Job Platforms, BOSS Zhipin (BOSS直聘). These large platforms seem to have the most relevant and abundant data points when it comes to the modern Chinese job markets. We’ll be sure to include the number of data points we have for each statistic we pull out. We’ll also be updating this annually to keep up with the newest salary data out there – this data was last checked (by a real human!) in March 2024. Two things to note: 1) Tencent is a massive conglomerate that hires for hundreds of different types of positions, and 2) this data is for China-based salaries only – with the largest segment coming from Tencent’s headquarters in Shenzhen. So let’s dive into some neat data on the average salary at Tencent!  Average Salary at Tencent, Company-Wide Based on a data set of 96,589 jobs, the average monthly salary at Tencent in China is ¥36,292 RMB ($5,056 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥435,504 RMB ($60,678 USD). Average Salary at Tencent by Function Technology Based on a data set of 63,856 jobs, the average monthly salary for Technology roles at Tencent in China is ¥38,007 RMB ($5,297 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥456,084 RMB ($63,556 USD). Common Technology roles at Tencent: Technical Project Manager .net Developer C/C++ Developer iOS Developer Golang Developer Android Developer Front-end Developer Testing & Maintenance Engineer Product Based on a data set of 10,728 jobs, the average monthly salary for Product roles at Tencent in China is ¥37,981 RMB ($5,292 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥455,772 RMB ($63,512 USD). Common Product roles at Tencent: Project Manager Game Planner Data Project Manager Operations Based on a data set of 7,371 jobs, the average monthly salary for Operations roles at Tencent in China is ¥36,292 RMB ($5,058 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥435,504 RMB ($60,688 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥371,268 RMB ($51,737 USD). Common Design roles at Tencent: Game Effects Designer Original Concept Designer Game Scene Designer Game Character Designer UX/UI Designer Animator 3D Designer HR/Finance/Admin Based on a data set of 2,241 jobs, the average monthly salary for HR/Finance/Admin function roles at Tencent in China is ¥26,677 RMB ($3,717 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥320,124 RMB ($44,610 USD). This equates to an annual salary of ¥414,648 RMB ($57,781 USD). They are both among China’s biggest job portals and have some of the largest amounts of local, first-hand, public data points.
