Civil Engineering Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of civil engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, construction codes, and design specifications.
  • Manage project teams, including engineers, supervisors, and other personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, including progress, cost, and risk assessments.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Manage project budgets, optimize resource utilization, and control costs effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks, developing contingency plans to minimize impact on project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Class I Constructor) is highly desirable.
